As per Regulation 16(1) of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (Listing) Regulations, 2015, the Company has informed that a meeting of the Board of Directors will be held on October 29, 2017 at 3:00 PM to consider, among others, un-audited financial statements of the Company for the First Quarter (Q1) period ended on September 30, 2017.

The Company has informed that the Board of Directors of the Company, among others, has approved that the Company will make an investment of Tk. 2,45,000.00 for 24,500 number of ordinary shares of Confidence Batteries Limited subject to the required regulatory approvals. The said investment will entitle Confidence Cement Limited 49% shares of Confidence Batteries Limited.

The Company has informed that Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) vide their Memo dated May 15, 2017 has issued the Letter of Intent (LOI) for a HFO Fired Power Generation Facility of 113 MW Capacity at Rangpur, Bangladesh and 113 MW Capacity at Bogra, Bangladesh respectively to the Consortium of Confidence Cement Limited and Confidence Steel Limited. (continuation news of CONFIDCEM): the ordinary shares of 2 private limited companies, namely Energypac Confidence Power Venture Limited and ECPV Chittagong Limited, will be sold to Energypac Power Generation Limited and its nominees. Selling consideration from the investment will be Tk. 807,864,965.00 and total carrying value of the investment in those two Companies will be Tk. 744,095,173.00; which will raise profit by Tk. 63,769,792.00.
